End or beginning

#23 I think in many ways its just the beginning for me. Not to say that i will use everything that i have discovered doing this exercise but the mind has expanded and thats good. I do worry about the amount of time you can spend sitting in front of a screen, its so addictive. Because of work commitments i found i had to rush the last few exercises but i will return to these at home when i can take my time. It is a very time consuming exercise. Finally i have gained understanding and knowledge as to how much information is out there and now the many ways of tapping into this info. Amazing, its just like my ipod - i just cant believe it!

Audiobooks

#22 I am thrilled to bits about this one as recently I received a gift and guess what it was? Yes I have an ipod! I can't get over the size its a 2 gig nano. My friend downloaded 3 books for me and I have nearly finished the second. I think there is much more choice in the States therefore paying is necessary but oh! my i am so happy. Me and my ipod go walking, driving and houseworking to gether. I love it and so very fortunate to have friends like i have. I am a hot fat little ol' mama! Cool!

Oh dear, this was outa sight! A real trap!Loved watching/hearing all the old stuff from the 60's & 70's. I guess this could be used in a library for art students:-music, film studies especially the really old versions.

Oh! i loved some of these sites. If only i could write Lulu would be great. I would like to see/have an end product. Music area was ok but maps was my abosolute fave. Checked out all the places i have lived. London, LA, SF etc. I had been to this site before but not for a long time. Lots of fun. Thank you.

Tried to post my blog direct from Zoho several times but failed don't know what happened but ran out of patience and time. Thought Zoho was brilliant, to take away power from Microsoft has my vote, but apart from that can see a lot of applications. Love it!

#16 Wikis

I sound like a broken record but once again you can spend hours on this stuff! I think Wikis have a place in a library, for training, meetings etc. and I think in the ATO there is a place for an internal one as well, for information re tax, super etc. but I would want it to be authorised by a few very knowledgeable people. Then you have the problem of who and will they be interested or have the time. I think that is the main thing that worries me about general Wikis, is that the information one can get access to may not be totally correct or someone can play around with it. OK so if i get info from a Wiki i then have to verify it somewhere else? So why not just go to that source originally.

As a result of reading these perspectives we had an interesting discussion in our library, which is what it is all about. I feel a little excited at the vision of Web 2.0 but also a little fear. How is this going to be supported if libraries are fighting for every dollar as is it. Specials are still closing down rapidly. Will this be info overload for our clients. For the younger ones the answer will be no but how about the oldies? How are they going to cope? I found myself asking more and more questions and coming up with some answers. It is going to be so good watching and participating in all these occurences.

This is just too vast for me to comprehend; once again it depends what words people use for their tags. I can't say anymore.
#13 Del.icio.us

I really enjoyed this one and can see uses for it. Interesting to see how people tag the same things using different words. Just shows you how differently our brains work. Could have spent hours on this one. The tutorial didn't work either which was disappointing.
# 12 Rollyo

Gosh its been a while since I added anything - so busy! Rollyo well i think i am missing the whole message about Rollyo. While I concede it is a handy I don't know if i would use it. I equate it to Favourites but with a bit more.

I am not particulary over the moon about this site at all. I would have no need for it nor would many others i suspect.

Hi
Just went through RSS feeds. Its really great, but would drive me up the wall. I am sure that i could spend hours searching for feeds that would suit me. I don't have the time at work but maybe at home i will search more.
G'day
I have been unable to do anything for the last couple of weeks due to some technical hitches but should be OK now. I really enjoyed adding the pictures to my blog. You could spend hours on Flicr but now is time to move on so here we go...
